In a grim turn of events, authorities in Imo State have apprehended a 27-year-old woman named Oluchi Nzemechi, hailing from Uzoagba in Ikeduru LGA, for the tragic demise of her husband, Kelechi Nzemechi, aged 31.

According to ASP Henry Okoye, spokesperson for the police command, Oluchi admitted to the crime during questioning. She revealed that her involvement with internet fraud, commonly known as ‘yahoo yahoo’, stemmed from influence by her paramour.

The distressing incident unfolded on June 2nd when a dispute erupted between Oluchi and Kelechi over a share of an alleged 250 million Rupiah they purportedly acquired through fraudulent means from a victim in Indonesia. In the heat of the argument, Oluchi resorted to violence, fatally stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife.

In a desperate attempt to conceal her culpability, Oluchi left a menacing note beside Kelechi’s lifeless body, threatening retribution against him and his family. She then fled the scene. Further revelations disclosed that Oluchi had been cohabiting with Kelechi since 2019 and bore his child.

According to lindaikejisblog, the authorities are diligently working towards recovering the ill-gotten gains, aiming for their restitution to the rightful owner. Meanwhile, Oluchi is undergoing investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department, with imminent arraignment in court on the horizon.
