Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has lamented how tough 2023 was for him and hoped for a better 2024.
The singer revealed this on Sunday evening in a post on his Instagram story.

Wizkid’s revelation may not be unconnected to his mother’s death.
Wizkid lost his mother in August 2023 and she was buried the following month.

Her children are Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, and Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun.

December, Wizkid released his latest musical project, the “Soundman Vol. 2” EP.
The four-tracks project includes vibrant collaborations with industry heavyweights Wande Coal and Zlatan Ibile.
Notably, ‘Soundman Vol. 1’ was released in December 2019.
The release of this project comes a month after Wizkid hinted at taking a five year break from music.
The Afrobeats star stated that he would be taking four or five years off the music scene.
He added that he is considering taking up football or golf.
