Nollywood actress Jumoke George has issued a strong warning to Nigerian women about the dangers of undergoing Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgeries.
Her statement follows the recent death of a woman during a botched procedure in Lagos.
In a post on her Instagram page, Jumoke expressed concern about the growing trend of cosmetic surgeries, particularly BBL, and urged women to reconsider risking their lives for aesthetic enhancements.
She questioned whether those seeking such procedures are implying dissatisfaction with how God created them.
Jumoke wrote, “Women, what is the colour of our problem? Because if I say I understand I am lying. The scripture says every creature was made in the image of God the most high… Are you telling God that He does not know what He was doing? God is perfect. What then are we looking for?”
Her comments come in the wake of the arrest of a Lagos-based doctor, Idara Bassey, by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the death of a 36-year-old woman, Abiola, who lost her life during a BBL surgery. The incident has sparked outrage, with many calling for stricter regulations in the cosmetic surgery industry.
Jumoke further criticized the trend, warning that while God may grant long life, many are cutting their lives short with risky surgeries.
She wrote, “Women, what is the colour of our problem? Because if I say I understand I am lying. The scripture says every creature was made in the image of God the most high.”
“You females looking at me whose image do you think you were created? Are you telling God that He does not know what He was doing? God is perfect. What then are we looking for? God has given some long life but they intentionally cut off their lives.
