Legendary British singer, songwriter, and pianist, Elton John has confirmed his retirement from touring.
The 77-year-old confirmed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that he will never tour again.
His final show was last July, in Stockholm, Sweden.
The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went, ‘Yes! yes!’ We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there’s no going back [after] that,” he said.
Elton John’s farewell tour which ended early last year, bringing in $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows, was the highest-grossing music tour in history before the record was overtaken by Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour.
Era’s tour earned $1 billion in revenue to better Elton John’s record.
Acclaimed by critics and musicians, particularly for his work during the 1970s and for his lasting impact on the music industry, his music and showmanship have had a significant impact on popular music.
