Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has lambasted the Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, over her visit to ailing actor Zack Orji.
On Tuesday, the minister visited Orji at a private hospital in Abuja, where the wife of the ailing thespian, Ngozi Orji, and some family members received her.
Musawa, who made a personal donation of an undisclosed amount to support the medical bills of the ailing actor, assured that better days were ahead for Nigerian creatives.
Reacting to the visit in a post on X, Charly Boy referred to Musawa as an attention seeker, noting that the ailing actor is the least of Nigeria’s problems.
He further questioned how the visits bring down the price of petrol or the rising cost of living in the country.
“Chronic attention seekers make we hear word. Nigeria currently has a bigger terminal problem bigger than Zack Orji.
Don’t get it twisted, He’s a respected Nigerian icon. His contributions are there for all to see.
“If una wan help Zack, carry am go abroad since na una strong supporter. National hospital is a mortuary.”
Zack Orji, 64, reportedly slumped on New Year’s Eve and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja before he was transferred to a private hospital for surgery.
