Two confirmed dead and eight injured in road crash

Two men died and eight other individuals, including four female adults, three male adults, and one female child, were injured in a road accident that occurred on the Idiroko-Ota road at around 8pm on Sunday.

The incident involved a Man Diesel truck with the registration number LSR10YD and a Toyota Carina without a number plate. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident and stated that the crash claimed the lives of two male adults and left eight people injured.

According to the FRSC spokesperson, the suspected cause of the road accident that resulted in two deaths and eight injuries on the Idiroko-Ota road was wrongful overtaking, which led to a head-on collision.

The injured victims were taken to the General Hospital in Idiroko for treatment, and the corpses were taken away by their families. The Sector Commander of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, CC Anthony Uga, advised motorists to always have a clear vision of 150 to 200 meters at night and a controlled speed before overtaking.
